Similarly to urinary incontinence, leakage during a bowel movement or the feeling of incomplete emptying can be a topic that most patients shy away from discussing. Toileting strategies and assessment of the pelvic floor can be important in addressing these limiting symptoms. Education for caregivers of patients that have fecal incontinence can also be helpful.
